Paateri
These pictures are of the home/workshop/chapel built by the sculptor Eva Ryynäsen (1914-2001) at Paateri in Eastern Finland.
Eva seems to have wanted to carve every piece of wood she saw, and to make everything around her out of her carvings.
The logs in the chapel (16-19) are Russian red pine, and the doors (17 & 18) are each a single piece of Canadian hemlock.
Please ignore the 'Buy Photos' button on the right: I can't find how to turn it off. Just contact me on hugh@hughmillerphoto.com if you want prints of any of these.
